Gut Microbiota: Interactive Effects on Nutrition and Health

I had the privilege of co-authoring this textbook, Gut Microbiota: Interactive Effects on Nutrition and Health, with Natasha Haskey, RD, and Edward Ishiguro, PhD. The book, aimed at dietitians and other health professionals, highlights the intestinal microbiota and how it relates to nutrition. In straightforward language, it introduces key concepts about the microbiome and how it applies in nutrition science, using the most current evidence available in the field. Featured topics include gut microbiota throughout the lifespan, gut microbiota in health and disease, and genetic and environmental influences on gut microbiota. Overall, this book provides readers with an understanding of the future potential and limitations of gut microbiota research, supporting clinicians in making evidence-based diet recommendations for the maintenance of good health.
